• Frontend Architecture and Technical Direction
  • Help shape frontend architecture and establish patterns that can be used across the team
  • Make technical decisions and clearly communicate the reasoning and trade‑offs behind them
  • Design frontend applications and architecture at scale, thinking beyond individual features to the wider platform
  • Contribute to the ongoing frontend rewrite and the long‑term technical direction of the platform
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies and areas of technical debt, and drive their resolution
• Advanced Frontend Development and Delivery
  • Design, build and maintain complex frontend applications using React
  • Take ownership of larger technical initiatives and projects from initial idea through to delivery
  • Work closely with other engineers to deliver larger pieces of functionality
  • Work effectively within large or complex codebases
  • Learn and contribute to the broader technology stack as the team moves toward full‑stack engineering
• Code Quality and Engineering Standards
  • Review code and ensure adherence to standards, design patterns and best practices
  • Help improve development practices, code quality and application performance
  • Investigate difficult technical problems and drive them through to resolution
  • Work with backend engineers and APIs to ensure a clean boundary between frontend and backend systems
• Technical Leadership and Mentorship
  • Provide practical technical guidance to other engineers
  • Mentor and help intermediate engineers work through problems
  • Take responsibility for a technical area so the wider team can focus on delivery
  • Bring and articulate technical opinions, while remaining open to alternative approaches
  • Contribute to technical discussions and knowledge‑sharing across the team

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Relevant certifications in frontend or web development technologies

• Around 7+ years' professional software development experience
• Communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
• Strong hands‑on experience with ReactJS
• Interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Experience designing and working with frontend architecture at scale
• Advanced analytical skills
• Experience working with APIs and backend services
• Advanced problem‑solving skills
• Experience with testing, performance and maintainability
• Ability to make technical decisions independently and explain the trade‑offs
• Strong Git and code review experience
• Coaching and mentoring skills
• Experience taking ownership of projects from initial idea through to delivery
• Technical leadership
• Java and Spring experience would be beneficial, particularly for full‑stack development
