Senior Software Architect; FinTech

Our client, a rapidly growing Fin Tech innovator based in the picturesque winelands of Stellenbosch, Western Cape , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Architect. This pivotal role involves designing and overseeing the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions that drive our client's cutting-edge financial technology products. You will be responsible for defining architectural standards, selecting appropriate technologies, and guiding engineering teams to ensure robust and efficient system design.

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure software architectures for Fin Tech applications.
• Lead the technical direction and architectural decisions for new product development and system enhancements.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineering leads, and development teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Define coding standards, best practices, and design patterns for software development.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineering teams.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and ensure the performance, reliability, and maintainability of systems.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in Fin Tech and software architecture.
• Conduct code reviews and architectural assessments to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the company's long-term technology roadmap.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on architecture and design. Proven experience designing and building complex, scalable systems, preferably in the Fin Tech industry. Expertise in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) and modern software development frameworks. Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.

Strong knowledge of database technologies (SQL, No

SQL) and data modeling. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Dev Ops practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience mentoring development teams.
