Lead Mobile Application Developer; iOS & Android

Our client, a rapidly expanding fintech startup, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mobile Application Developer to spearhead their mobile development efforts. This role is based in our client's innovative office environment in Stellenbosch, Western Cape
. You will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of their native iOS and Android applications, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building high-performance, scalable mobile applications and possesses strong leadership qualities. You will guide a team of talented mobile developers, foster best practices, and collaborate closely with product and design teams to bring new features to life.

• Lead the design and development of high-quality native iOS and Android applications.
• Manage and mentor a team of mobile developers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
• Define and implement mobile development best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns.
• Collaborate with product managers and UI/UX designers to translate requirements into functional and engaging mobile experiences.
• Oversee the entire mobile app lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Ensure the performance, scalability, and responsiveness of mobile applications.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend services and APIs.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mobile application issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in mobile application development, with a focus on native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java).
• Proven experience leading a team of developers.
• Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices.
• Experience with mobile development frameworks and tools (e.g., Xcode, Android Studio, SDKs).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and mobile integration.
• Knowledge of mobile app performance optimization and security best practices.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
