Transport Scheduler

Transport Scheduler position available in Stellenbosch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily transport operations and maintain established administrative procedures.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with transporters, clients, and truck drivers.
• Monitor truck movements and follow up on deliveries to ensure accurate ETAs.
• Communicate proactively with clients, providing regular updates on the status of shipments.
• Build and maintain relationships with loading and off-loading points to ensure efficient operations.
• Identify and liaise with key contacts at loading and off-loading sites.
• Assist with the weekly planning, scheduling, and forecasting of truck movements.
• Support drivers by resolving operational issues and ensuring smooth transport processes.

Requirements:

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport, or a related field.
• Knowledge of the transport and logistics industry.
• Previous experience in a transport coordination, logistics, or operations role will be advantageous.
• Strong customer service, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Good planning, organisational, and analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to be available after hours to assist with transport-related queries and operational issues.
