Vineyard Transport Operative

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dependable Vineyard Transport Operative to manage the movement of goods and materials within and between vineyards in the Paarl region. This role is essential for supporting the operational efficiency of viticulture activities, ensuring timely transport of supplies, equipment, and harvested produce. You will be responsible for operating light commercial vehicles or utility vehicles across varying terrain, requiring a combination of driving skill and an understanding of vineyard operations.

The ideal candidate is familiar with the local area, possesses a strong work ethic, and is committed to contributing to the successful running of agricultural enterprises in the fertile Western Cape.

• Operate light trucks or utility vehicles to transport supplies, equipment, and harvested produce within vineyard sites and between locations in Paarl.
• Ensure the safe loading, unloading, and securing of all transported materials.
• Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely movement of goods.
• Perform routine checks on assigned vehicles and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of transport activities and inventory movements.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, particularly when operating vehicles in agricultural environments.

• Valid driver's license (e.g., Code 10 preferred) with a clean record.
• Previous experience in a driving or operational role, preferably in an agricultural or logistics setting.
• Familiarity with the Paarl region and vineyard environments is advantageous.
• Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
