Bus Driver - Public Transport

About the Role

Our client, a leading public transport operator, is seeking a responsible and customer-focused Bus Driver for routes in and around Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This position requires a professional who prioritizes passenger safety and comfort while adhering to strict schedules. You will be operating modern passenger buses, interacting daily with a diverse range of passengers. The ideal candidate is a punctual, courteous individual with an excellent driving record and a commitment to providing reliable public transportation services.

This role is vital to the community, ensuring accessible and safe travel for residents and visitors.

• Safely operate buses on scheduled routes, ensuring passenger comfort and security.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company regulations, and route timings.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, and provide information regarding routes and schedules.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior and exterior.
• Manage passenger flow efficiently and handle fare collection/ticketing procedures accurately.

• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) and a relevant bus driving license (e.g., Code 10 or Code 14).
• Proven experience as a bus driver with a focus on passenger transport.
• Excellent driving record with no recent major violations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective passenger interaction.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Knowledge of the Stellenbosch area and its transport network is an advantage.
