About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and decisive Airline Operations Controller to join their flight operations center in Stellenbosch . This critical role involves overseeing the daily operational performance of the airline fleet, ensuring flights operate safely, punctually, and efficiently. You will be at the forefront of managing operational disruptions, coordinating responses to weather events, technical issues, and air traffic control constraints.

This position requires a deep understanding of airline operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make rapid, informed decisions under pressure.

• Monitor the real-time status of all flights, ensuring adherence to schedules and operational plans.
• Manage and coordinate responses to operational disruptions, including weather, technical malfunctions, and air traffic delays.
• Liaise with flight crews, maintenance teams, ground staff, and external agencies to resolve operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and company policies.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
• Authorize flight plan changes and ensure adequate fuel planning and load control.

• Previous experience in airline operations, dispatch, or flight control is essential.
• A strong understanding of airline operations, flight planning, meteorology, and air traffic management.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, particularly under pressure.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination across departments.
• Proficiency in using flight operations software and communication systems.
