Living Sky School Division Summer Literacy Camp Facilitator Temporary PT

Are you ready to ignite young minds and foster a love for learning in the great outdoors? Living Sky School Division is seeking energetic and creative Summer Literacy Camp Facilitators to lead outdoor, playbased literacy activities for children and families. This summer position is funded through external grants and offers a unique opportunity to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of reading.

As a Summer Literacy Camp Facilitator, you’ll bring literacy to life in nature’s classroom, designing engaging activities, connecting with community partners, and creating meaningful learning moments for children. If you’re enthusiastic, independent, and passionate about literacy, we encourage you to apply.

This posting is for a Temporary Part-Time Summer Literacy Camp Facilitator in the Battlefords, expected to begin July 6, 2026, with a contract end date of August 7, 2026. Hours of work are 6.5 hours per day, Tuesday-Friday.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children or in educational settings is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, organization, and independent work skills.
  • Creativity, initiative, and the ability to adapt activities to a variety of ages and outdoor environments.
  • Teachers are encouraged to apply.
The Right Person Will
  • Create engaging learning experiences by designing and delivering outdoor literacy activities for children and families across a range of ages.
  • Collaborate with community partners to help build a well‑rounded program that fosters community connection and shared learning.
  • Provide meaningful resources and support that inspire participants to develop a lifelong interest in literacy.
  • Maintain accurate records, including budgets and participant data, to support smooth and effective program operations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingly assist with other duties as assigned.
