Provide virtual nursing care from home through telephone triage, clinical assessment, and mental health crisis intervention for callers. Serve Fonemed's Canadian operations.
Fonemed seeks experienced Registered Nurses for Newfoundland and Labrador's 811 Health Line and Mental Health Crisis Line. Nurses use Schmitt-Thompson protocols to assess callers, provide care advice, and make independent decisions. Calls vary in subject and complexity.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide telephone triage and timely medical advice
- Support callers experiencing mental health, addictions, or crises
- Apply clinical judgment and protocols to determine care dispositions
- Complete confidential medical records promptly
- Give clear information and direction during patient encounters
- Graduate from a recognized School of Nursing
- Minimum two years of recent triage or clinical experience
- Active CRNNL licensure or willingness to obtain it
- Comfort using telephone systems and computer software
- Availability for days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
