Allyn International is currently looking for a full-time Hybrid Logistics Specialist in Ontario, Canada* to join our organization! Our core products include transportation management, logistics sourcing, freight forwarding, supply chain consulting, tax management, and customs compliance.

The Logistics Specialis t is responsible for managing logistics activities in a manner that shall meet business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction. The Logistics Specialist shall manage outbound domestic and international logistics for client. The position is responsible for collecting and communicating all necessary information related to upcoming and ongoing shipments, projects, and services, as well as providing logistics support, consulting, and obtaining best possible transportation rates.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent college degree – focus in Logistics preferred
  • Logistics coordination experience preferred: project cargo, port operations, trucking, transportation, customs, supply chain principles
  • Experience supporting wind energy or large‑scale capital projects preferred
  • Experience with transport damage documentation and claims processes preferred

    Scheduling and critical path management experience preferred
  • Must obtain and maintain all training, certifications, permits, or licenses required for the scope of work, and comply with Allyn and Client safety programs, including use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Responsibilities
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Client’s internal logistics team and, in accordance with the Client’s instructions, the Client’s customer for project shipments
  • Act as the on‑site interface to the Client’s designated external logistics transportation providers at designated locations (port of Thunder Bay, ON; laydown yard in Weyburn, SK; project site in Assiniboia, SK)
  • Coordinate on‑site logistics transportation provider activities in the most efficient way possible
  • Maintain all dates, records, and information from the logistics department to ensure an accurate schedule
  • Document transport damages with responsible stakeholders, notating on appropriate logistics documentation (including Client‑provided templates), and provide the documentation to the Client within twenty‑four (24) hours
  • Discuss process improvements, cost savings, and best practice knowledge sharing with the Client
  • Create Bills of Lading (BOLs) for trucking and upload all logistics documentation to Allyn’s Logistics Application software (ALA)
  • Provide daily written reports to the Client of activities completed each day, including any issues or resolutions the Client should reasonably be informed of
  • Document all work as appropriate and maintain orderly and auditable work files with appropriate security and backup procedures
  • Coordinate with the Client’s designated Logistics Manager on day‑to‑day priorities and shipment schedules
  • Support trade compliance activities as needed, including accurate and complete shipment documentation (e.g., bills of lading, invoices, customs declarations) and escalation of observed discrepancies
  • Comply with all applicable laws, Allyn’s safety program, the Client’s safety requirements, and site‑specific safety requirements, including completion of Client training on applicable standards, procedures, and systems
  • Adjust weekly schedules in coordination with shipment arrivals, including as‑needed Saturday coverage, while not exceeding forty (40) working hours per week
