Position: JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER (LICENSED) (FULL TIME)

General Information
  • Location: TAMU Tarleton Oper – 201 Saint Felix Street, Stephenville, TX 76402. Openings at other district locations available.
  • Schedule: Full time Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Flexible full/part‑time options available.
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour.
  • Requirements: Prior journeyman license and commercial‑level experience in plumbing.

Job Summary

The Licensed Master Plumber holds the license that all other technicians in that trade will work under for the system and is responsible for ensuring that all work is performed according to all applicable laws, federal, state, and local. The role may supervise and lead a group of workers, teach advanced maintenance skills, review work of outside vendors and licensed maintenance workers, and report on and repair discrepancies, as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee maintenance, repair/replacement, operation, and renovation of plumbing equipment and facilities.
  • Make decisions on all normal & complex repairs and consult with Operations Manager as needed.
  • Read and understand blueprints, specifications, or models to learn work layout, or plan own work layout, making routine computations as needed.
  • Review outside vendor projects and create punch lists.
  • Analyze and correct complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.
  • Maintain systems, equipment, and facilities in a clean, safe operating condition in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Determine manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs or projects.
  • Maintain logs, perform rounds, and recommend modifications or improvements to preventive maintenance systems.
  • Learn and utilize the site CMMS. Update work statuses and document tasks in real time using a mobile device.
  • Contribute to a safe work environment by quickly reporting accidents and unsafe conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 8 years minimum of training and work experience, including 4 years in a DOL accredited Apprentice Program plus 4 years as Journeyman Plumber.
  • Valid Master’s Plumbing license with proof of RMP endorsement.
  • Valid Class “C” driver’s license.
  • Rudimentary ability to use hand‑operated construction equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and kneel/bend/stoop for extended periods.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to elevated heat, noise, dust, dirt, and potential infection control areas.
  • Must meet daily deadlines and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to maintain facilities.
