Delivery Specialist
Responsible for maintaining and operating store vehicles to deliver parts and products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. The position also collects money on C.O.D. deliveries and picks up customer returns.
Essential Job Functions- Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
- Use fleet management handheld devices to process deliveries, capture signatures, update mileage, and complete daily inspections.
- Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and inspect prior to operating.
- Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, devices, and collected monies at all times.
- Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, cores, etc.) and complete driver return slip.
- Communicate customer issues or special needs to store management.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage immediately.
- Ensure fuel tank is filled and lock and secure vehicle at end of day.
- Clock in/out according to company policy.
- Assist with customer service, sweeping, general stocking and straightening stock, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, checking in and putting up stock orders, etc.
- Occasionally serve as cashier or help with merchandising tasks when business dictates.
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
- Driving record must meet the standard set in the company 14/18-point record system.
- Must possess a legally required state driver's license and meet company mandated driving eligibility requirements.
- Familiar with automotive parts.
- Ability to operate other light store equipment.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
