• Serve as the primary technical authority for all mechanical conveyor system discussions, coordination, and issue resolution
• The majority of this individual's time will be spent in the Detroit area, long stretches will be onsite in Belvidere, IL and Toledo, OH at the plant work site
• Lead conveyor-related activities across assembly, paint, and body shop manufacturing areas
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a wide range of conveyor systems, including Power & Free, overhead, inverted, EMS, roller, friction drive, skillet, pallet systems, and air-based drip systems
• Perform and review engineering studies including cording studies, chain pull calculations, drive studies, vertical curve analysis, and cycle time evaluations
• Review, evaluate, and approve contractor and supplier design drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
• Ensure all designs align with detailed engineering requirements and established industry installation standards
• Collaborate closely with project management and cross‑functional engineering teams to support program execution
• Maintain compliance with applicable industry safety, fire protection, and ventilation requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of experience supporting automotive or industrial manufacturing projects
• At least 10 years of hands‑on experience with conveyor system installation, design, and implementation
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent demonstrated project experience
• Advanced proficiency in 2D AutoCAD for mechanical and conveyor system design
• Comprehensive understanding of conveyor engineering standards and industry best practices
• Strong working knowledge of applicable safety, fire protection, and ventilation codes and standards
• Ability to lead technical reviews, mentor team members, and support structured engineering processes
