Sistar Mortgage Company – Mortgage Underwriter with DU, Conventional Underwriting, FHA, and DE experience.

• Underwrites residential mortgage loans in accordance with Conventional, FHA/HUD and internal guidelines, ensuring compliance and lender standards.
• Able to clearly communicate FHA, corporate, and lender guidelines to customers, loan processors, and sales associates.
• Able to make timely, accurate decisions on all transactions.
• Has thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis.
• May provide training/mentoring to underwriters, loan processors, and sales associates.
• Ensure the highest level of compliance, appraisal analysis, and fraud mitigation, working with senior management to establish credit policy, appraisal policy and underwriting signing authority.
• Functions will include but are not limited to, reviewing assets, financial statements, credit reports, applicable ratios, income documentation, appraisal and title.
• Provide excellent customer service skills; interface with all internal departments and any additional duties as required by direct supervisor.

• 3-6 years of strong mortgage underwriting experience.
• Must have an active DE Direct Endorsement certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are must.
• FHA experience and/or DE certification is a plus.
• VA underwriting experience is a plus.
• Experienced conventional underwriter.
• Strong eye for detail required, any additional experience with QC is a plus.

• A Business Degree is preferred but not required, or equivalent work experience.
