Provides leadership to Engagement Center and Macomb hospital program (Project Assert). The Director of Substance Use Services is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operations within a healthcare facility, ensuring quality care, compliance, and operational efficiency. Responsible for creating and managing the staffing coverage in partnership with the Engagement Center Assistant Director.
Description of responsibilities- Provides on‑going, regular supervision to employees to ensure the following: services delivered are timely, appropriate and effective; the professional development of staff; and agency policy and procedures are enforced.
- Works in partnership with the Program Managers of SUD programs to ensure services are effective and the staff are supported.
- Provide presentations and trainings within the workplace, as needed.
- Promote programs to community stakeholders.
- Ensure program and safety protocols are implemented and followed.
- Work variable shifts as necessary.
- High School Diploma, college degree preferred.
- Must possess active status or be eligible for one of the following:
- Certified by Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (specifically Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)),
- Must have a registered development plan and be timely in its implementation.
- Certificate of completion of the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) Recovery Coach Academy, including ethics.
- Familiarity with local services and resources for substance use.
- One or more years experience in supervisory or leadership role.
