Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities are described under the Tool & Die Repair role at Magna Powertrain. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment on tool and die repair activities aligned with powertrain manufacturing.

Qualifications
  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning

    Skills:

    Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Knowledge of database software, AutoCAD, internet software, manufacturing software, Microsoft Office, AS400.
  • Communication & Problem Solving: Active listening and a process-oriented approach using Magna’s standard problem solving framework (MPTSH).
  • Physical Demands: Frequent standing/walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and ability to meet the physical requirements of a fast-paced environment with reasonable accommodations.
  • Work Environment: Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, vibration, and moderate to loud noise levels typical of a production floor.
