Centurions MHA Administrative Fellowship is a unique post-graduate leadership development opportunity designed for emerging healthcare leaders interested in correctional healthcare administration. The fellow will gain comprehensive exposure to healthcare operations within correctional settings while working alongside senior leaders to support strategic initiatives, quality improvement efforts, population health programs, and operational excellence.

This fellowship offers a distinctive opportunity to learn how healthcare is delivered to an underserved and medically complex patient population while contributing to initiatives focused on clinical quality, patient safety, behavioral health, chronic disease management, and operational performance.

Fellowship Experience

  • The fellow will work closely with executive leadership and participate in projects across multiple operational and clinical functions, including:
  • Healthcare operations and administration
  • Strategic planning and organizational development
  • Quality improvement and patient safety
  • Behavioral health services
  • Population health management
  • Finance and healthcare analytics
  • Compliance and accreditation
  • Workforce planning and employee engagement

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support cross-functional projects that improve healthcare delivery, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
  • Analyze operational, financial, and clinical performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop presentations, reports, and recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities and organizational initiatives.
  • Support quality assurance, risk management, and accreditation efforts.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to implement healthcare best practices.
  • Assist in evaluating healthcare programs and measuring performance outcomes.
  • Attend leadership meetings and gain exposure to executive decision-making processes.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking activities to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Health Administration.
  • Graduation within the previous 12 months or completion of degree requirements before fellowship start date.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through academic, professional, military, or volunteer activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous internship or work experience in healthcare.
  • Interest in correctional healthcare, public health, population health, or healthcare operations.
  • Experience with healthcare data analysis, quality improvement, or project management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analytics tools.
