The preferred location for this role is either Denver, CO, or Sterling, VA. Qualified candidates based near other Edge Core locations, including Santa Clara, CA;
Reno, NV; and Mesa, AZ, will also be considered. This role requires an in-office presence four days per week and regular travel (up to 40%).
As Vice President, Enterprise Security Architect, you will be the architectural authority for Edge Core’s converged security environment — mapping, documenting, and governing systems and configurations across both physical security and cybersecurity. This is a distinctive convergence role: few organizations offer the opportunity to unify the architecture of enterprise access control, video, and key management platforms with the networks, servers, identities, and cybersecurity controls that underpin them, across a multi-billion-dollar data center portfolio.
You will create the authoritative system-of-record for how every security system is built, connected, configured, and secured — and use it to drive standardization, hardening, and integration as the portfolio scales. Success in this role means a complete and current enterprise security architecture, enforced configuration baselines across all campuses, secure and well-governed integrations between physical and logical security domains, and audit-ready documentation for customers and compliance frameworks.
- Own the enterprise security architecture spanning physical security systems (access control, video management, key/asset management, biometrics) and cybersecurity infrastructure, establishing a unified reference architecture for the portfolio.
- Map, document, and maintain the authoritative inventory of all security systems, integrations, data flows, and configurations across all campuses — including servers, network paths, dependencies, and as-built records.
- Define and enforce configuration standards and hardening baselines for security platforms (e.g., Genetec Security Center, Traka, biometric systems) and their underlying operating systems, databases, and networks.
- Architect and govern the network design supporting security systems, including segmentation, remote access, monitoring, and integration with cybersecurity tooling (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability management).
- Lead physical/logical convergence initiatives, including identity and credential lifecycle management across physical access control and enterprise identity systems.
- Own vulnerability and patch governance for security systems, including vendor patching SLAs, cybersecurity requirements in vendor SOWs, and verification of compliance.
- Map system architecture and configurations to customer security standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., hyperscale customer requirements, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST), supporting audits with authoritative documentation.
- Evaluate and architect new security technologies and integrations, including proofs of concept, integration roadmaps, and standards for onboarding new platforms and sites.
- Partner across physical security, IT, cybersecurity, operations, and vendors to align architecture decisions, and provide executive-level architecture documentation, risk analysis, and reporting.
- Security is a shared responsibility. All employees are required to comply with company security policies and procedures and to help protect company information, systems, and assets in the course of their daily work.
Experience and Qualifications
- 12+ years of security architecture or engineering experience spanning both physical security systems and information/cybersecurity, including 5+ years in senior or principal-level roles (required).
- Deep expertise in enterprise physical security platform architecture — access control, video management, and key/asset management;
