Full‑time, 165 scheduled working days during the school year, 8 hours per day on a 4‑day school week (Tuesday‑Friday).
Salary range:
Lane C, Step 3 (50% – Para educator – SSN) and Lane F, Step 1 (50% – Transition Services Coach).
- Significant Support Needs Para educator (2 days per week): minimum $17.30 per hour, salary dependent on experience.
- Transition Services Coach (2 days per week): minimum $20.47 per hour, salary dependent on experience.

Job Tasks – Significant Support Needs Para educator- Assist assigned teachers with instructional and physical student support.
- Deliver instructional activities according to each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Assist with design and implementation of learning environments, assistive technologies, and multi‑sensory materials.
- Support students’ integration into general‑education classrooms and communicate student needs to general‑education teachers.
- Impart life skills such as self‑hygiene and social/emotional skills.
- Supervise and facilitate sensory and movement rest periods between academic activities.
- Assist teachers in implementing positive behavior plans and systems for individual students.
- Provide student oversight during out‑of‑classroom activities, including arrivals, departures, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Communicate with other paraprofessionals and staff to coordinate student movements, schedules, and locations.
- Provide personal hygienic needs, including medication dispensing, meal preparation, feeding, or toileting/diapering, while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and student dignity.
- Collect and review progress on students’ work toward IEP goals/objectives, working with SPED teachers regularly to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate vocational tasks at job‑training sites, provide job coaching and follow‑up support.
- Assist employers with supporting students’ rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Model and instruct effective vocational, interpersonal, consumer, mobility, domestic, and safety skills.
- Train students in living skills, providing cues, opportunities for problem‑solving, consistent behavior management, and planning for decreased supervision.
- Provide mobility training to enable student access to public spaces and transportation.
- Assist students with alternative communication systems and adaptive equipment or technology.
- Monitor and evaluate students’ health and personal needs through data collection.
- Perform clerical duties and act as liaison between vocational placements and IEP teams.

Qualifications and Education Requirements- Hold an Associate’s degree or higher.
- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
- Alternative qualifications may be considered by the Board if appropriate and acceptable.
- Successfully pass the Work Keys test (via Workforce Center) for Reading, Mathematics, and Business Writing.
