Description of Job

This position provides programmatic and administrative supervision of the Substance Use Disorder staff at the Therapeutic Community and outpatient treatment program. The incumbent will assist in the development and review of Substance Use Disorder therapeutic community treatment programs, provide assessment and treatment services, and provide clinical and administrative supervision of counselors.

Responsibilities (Working Title)
  • Administrative supervision: approve sick and vacation leave requests, complete performance management documentation, determine staff schedules, and manage all other duties associated with administrative supervision.
  • Clinical supervision: treatment planning, case conceptualization, group and individual treatment interventions, maintain supervision records, and manage other duty aspects.
  • Coordinate with outpatient treatment staff to deliver services.
  • Coordinate data entry activities of assessment and treatment staff.
  • Conduct and supervise data reporting and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with Department policies and procedures.
  • Provide summary reports to Substance Use Disorder Services and Quality Assurance Officer.
  • Develop standardized curriculum format and core policies and procedures for Therapeutic Communities.
  • Provide group and individual therapy to inmates assigned to the therapeutic community.
  • Assist outpatient treatment staff in service delivery.
  • Document quality/compliance indicators, generate reports and present feedback to program and administrative staff.
  • Collect and evaluate performance data, identify improvement areas and provide recommendations and technical assistance.
  • Collaborate with Health Services Administrator and Mental Health Supervisor to ensure appropriate level of care.
  • Assist in Total Quality Improvement processes within Clinical Services Behavioral Health.
  • Attend monthly meetings.
  • Prepare therapeutic community topic presentations for program provider input and participation.
  • Collaborate with Substance Use Disorder Researcher, Quality Assurance Officer, and data management staff to conduct process and outcome evaluation research.
  • Provide training regarding inmate treatment, assessment review, counseling development, program planning, education and treatment groups, and data reporting for the electronic scheduling system.
  • Coordinate identification, assessment, and referral process for offenders within DOC for therapeutic community assignment.
  • Print a copy of the announcement for records.
