Job Summary: The Rental Manager is primarily responsible for rental sales, supervision of rental sales and service personnel, as well as maintenance of rental equipment.
Pay for this Role: $45,000 per year depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce strategies to increase rental sales for the store.
- Maintain rental equipment in good working order, including basic mechanical and small-engine troubleshooting.
- Manage profit margins, while increasing sales and maximizing profitability.
- Provide product education and strong customer service, addressing questions, complaints, and warranty issues.
- Attend training sessions to learn and keep up on current product information.
- Learn and train company procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
- Monitor employee work performance and productivity, providing useful feedback.
- Provide daily direction to staff, assign duties, and monitor work performance.
- Assist in the employee selection process as assigned by the manager.
- Train new and existing employees on job responsibilities, rental procedures, and customer service expectations.
- Work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays, as needed to meet business demands.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, And Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of similar product lines preferred.
- Previous sales experience in a rental and/or retail environment.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and resolve concerns effectively.
- Ability to analyze technical issues, identify root causes, and develop long-term solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to recommend process or operational changes to support business goals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive or proprietary information.
- Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and professional development.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Sales-oriented mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
- Mechanical aptitude and general computer knowledge preferred.
