R&D Materials Engineer
Wahl Clipper Corporation is seeking an R&D Materials Engineer to advance blade materials, hair‑cutting tool housing materials, and surface finishing selection & development. Responsibilities include improving blade technology, exploring new hard materials, establishing verification processes, scouting new processing technologies, developing housing materials and finishes, maintaining a materials library, researching sustainable materials, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Pay- $–$ per year (based on skills and experience)
- PhD in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering with a specialization in ceramics/composites/hard materials processing, plus 2 years experience in mechanical/wear applications of hard materials design, processing and characterization of advanced materials, test/characterization equipment set‑up, systematic experimentation, documentation, and presentation.
- Or, a Master’s degree in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering with a specialization in ceramics/composites/hard materials processing, plus 4 years experience in the same areas.
40 hours per week
