The Citadel of Sterling is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team. As an LPN, you will care for residents, conduct assessments, implement care plans, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Base pay range$30.00/hr - $35.00/hr
Responsibilities- Provide licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physicians and in accordance with facility, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Conduct resident assessments and observations, review care plans to ensure appropriate care.
- Take and record residents’ blood pressure and vital signs, administer catheter care, IV therapy within license limitations, and respiratory care (e.g., oxygen, nebulizer treatments).
- Document nurse’s notes in an informative, descriptive manner reflecting care provided and resident responses.
- Ensure residents’ environment is free from accidents and hazards, addressing safety risks promptly.
- Monitor and direct non‑licensed ancillary services to maintain high levels of resident care.
- Communicate and report information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required.
- Ensure all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained, making recommendations for changes to the IDT per professional standards.
- Maintain compliance with infection control standards, correcting non‑compliance immediately.
- Adhere to company policies regarding HIPAA compliance.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Understanding and adherence to infection control standards, policies, and procedures.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including occasional overnight travel.
- Positive, effective interaction with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and facility staff.
- Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university.
- Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state.
- One year of experience preferred.
- Long‑term care experience preferred.
- Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, sit extended periods, grasp, and coordinate fine hand movements; use of mechanical devices accepted if needed.
- Limited exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards required.
