BIM Manager
Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking a BIM Manager to lead Building Information Modeling operations for mechanical projects in Sterling, VA.
Position OverviewThe BIM Manager will lead VMG's Building Information Modeling operations across all mechanical projects, ensuring seamless integration between design, coordination, and field installation. This individual will oversee a team of BIM coordinators and technicians, implement modeling standards, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field leadership to deliver accurate, efficient, and constructible models.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development, coordination, and maintenance of BIM models for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Establish and enforce company-wide BIM standards, workflows, and best practices.
- Manage and mentor BIM team members to ensure quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to resolve coordination issues and optimize constructability.
- Conduct clash detection, design reviews, and model-based constructability analyses.
- Integrate BIM deliverables with fabrication, estimating, and field layout processes.
- Oversee BIM project schedules, resource allocation, and deliverables to meet project timelines.
- Stay current with new BIM technologies and tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Minimum 5-7 years of BIM/VDC experience in the mechanical construction industry.
- Proven experience leading BIM coordination for large-scale commercial projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM tools.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems design and installation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience integrating BIM with fabrication and field operations preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 per year
