- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
- Active certification with ARDMS and current compliance with CME requirements.
- Preferably experience with Breast Ultrasound and Diagnostic Procedure.
- Produces high-quality ultrasound images and obtains appropriate measurements for each exam.
- Maintains a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique.
- Communicates with the radiologist and performs any necessary additional exams.
- Documents all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly.
- Explains procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation.
- Monitors patients during all phases of the procedure with special care to ensure patient emotional and physical well-being.
- Assists and/or chaperones radiologist during ultrasound exams.
- Assists radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using appropriate sterile technique and universal precautions.
- Communicates patient information professionally and courteously to patients and referring physicians' offices as required.
- Maintains the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensures proper equipment maintenance and safety.
- Maintains a good working relationship with Radiologists and other Center staff members.
