We’re looking for an extraordinary individual with proven leadership and management skills to lead our data center operations organization in Indiana as a Data Center Operations (DCO) Cluster Manager.
Key job responsibilities- Lead and supervise a team of Data Center Managers (3–9 front‑line supervisors depending on location) and 75–150 hourly associates within Regional Data Centers.
- Attain organizational performance goals and objectives related to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals.
- Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.
- Obsess over team learning and development, both from a technical/functional and soft skills (critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and adaptability) development perspective including mentoring and training.
- Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the globe.
- Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including data center managers and data center operations technicians.
- Plan and execute the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build‑outs, new colocation build‑outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the network and server rack infrastructure to facilitate the daily operations.
- Experience in successful in sourcing and/or outsourcing specific task balancing internal skillsets with frugality.
- Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
A typical day at AWS is constantly changing. As a leader, you daily involve helping smooth out rough change edges. You work with global partners and manage local leaders, spending time between both spaces daily.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of people management experience
- Experience in managing managers
- 3+ years of change management experience
- Experience with technology risk, IT security audit, compliance and/or relevant regulatory knowledge
- Solid data mining / analytical skills.
- Knowledge of operating systems, hardware, storage, network, security, database administration and cloud infrastructure
- Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or equivalent
- Knowledge of continuously operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems, and building management systems
- Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing tasks

CompensationThe base pay for this position ranges from $130,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $292,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
