POSITION SUMMARY
Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Service Now Developer SME to play a key role in building and enhancing a modern cloud platform that supports digital engineering and mission-critical operations. You'll work at the center of a hub-and-spoke architecture with Service Now as the core, integrating customer tools and APIs, and enabling seamless workflows across Linux, Windows, and enterprise cloud environments.
This is a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding opportunity to apply your expertise in Service Now development while shaping one of the most complex and high-profile programs in the government customer community.
RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
- Design, deploy, and maintain Service Now infrastructure and APIs in an AWS cloud environment, ensuring secure roles, permissions, and integration with IdAM, Active Directory, and LDAP.
- Develop and maintain automated solutions using Dev Sec Ops tools (Foreman, Git Lab, Selenium), CI/CD practices, and automated testing plans across Linux and Windows environments.
- Produce high-quality technical deliverables, including documentation, infrastructure diagrams, and presentations for government and senior leadership.
- Collaborate effectively in Agile teams, applying engineering rigor, troubleshooting skills, and clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.
- 15+ years of Service Now experience.
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements (Security+ CE or higher).
- Must possess Service Now certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD); additional Implementation Specialist or Architect-level certifications are a plus.
Core Service Now & Dev Ops
- Expertise with Service Now development, CI/CD, test automation, and Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Experience with Service Now components including Discovery, Flow Designer, and SAM.
- Verification and validation of Service Now and integrated systems (end-to-end, regression testing).
- Familiarity with Dev Ops tools (Foreman, Terraform, Jenkins, Git Lab) and automated testing tools (Selenium).
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Experience with cloud architecture and system design (AWS preferred, Azure considered).
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, LDAP, and secure enterprise environments.
- Experience configuring and instrumenting monitoring/visualization tools (Grafana, Splunk).
Engineering & Security
- Proven engineering rigor with expert troubleshooting skills.
- Solid understanding of customer security requirements and processes in secure environments.
- Preparation and maintenance of Service Now components.
Agile & Professional Skills
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ability to decompose tasks for Jira stories.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, supporting collaboration in cross-functional teams.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Systems Engineering & Cloud
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Cloud solution optimization across enterprise environments.
- Ability to lead and oversee complex systems with an understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements across cloud, infrastructure, and security domains.
Monitoring & Virtualization
- Experience configuring and instrumenting monitoring and analytics tools (App Dynamics, Dyna Trace).
- Integration of virtualized applications, including streaming and layering techniques.
Enterprise Tools & Collaboration
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as SharePoint, IBM Enterprise Lifecycle Management, Team Work Cloud/Cameo, and Tableau.
