The UL-2050 Station Manager oversees the compliance of facilities certified to protect classified information under UL-2050 standards. This includes managing documentation, coordinating audits, and ensuring annual re-inspections are completed to prevent certification lapses. The role focuses on meticulous record-keeping, regulatory adherence, and supporting site readiness for compliance evaluations.



NOTE:

this position is based out of our Sterling VA office, with a hybrid schedule and periodic travel to project sites both locally and nationally.

This role may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or security clearance. Candidates who are unable to meet these requirements may not receive an offer, may have an offer revoked, or may be ineligible for continued employment in this position.

What will you be doing?

  • The Certifier must be able to recite the alarm workflow- including response times, Points of Contact, and activities performed at each stage. Be prepared to sketch the workflow during an audit.
  • Certifier must know the difference between a “deficiency item” and a “fail item”. Deficiency Items must be corrected within 30 days. Failed Item must be corrected prior to issuing certificate.
  • Understands the full cycle of bringing a site to certification. This includes working directly with the Gate Keeper, PMO, Sales, Operations and Monitoring.
  • Effectively manages virtual and physical documentation, ensuring accessibility and audit readiness.
  • Able to read and comprehend strict UL Guidelines that each site must adhere to.
  • Attention to Detail:
    Ensure accuracy in documentation, certifications, and adherence to UL-2050 processes, while being proficient in preparing for and responding to UL compliance audits, including creating detailed workflow illustrations

Safety:

  • Maintain and wear appropriate PPE as the job and tasks require it
  • Ensure hazards are addressed and rectified in a timely manner

Travel:

Periodic (20-30%) travel by car and airplane trips are required. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence. Employee will be required to use their own vehicle for local travel and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate.

  • Local travel to project sites (within a 2 hour driving distance each way) in the DC/VA/MD region
  • Overnight travel to project sites across the US

What do we require from you?

Education/Certifications:

  • High school or GED equal.

Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to use Word and Excel at a high level
  • Able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Compliance-Focused:
    Demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining compliance with UL-2050 and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration:

    Work seamlessly with internal teams (e.g., PMO, Operations) and external entities (e.g., regulatory bodies and clients).
  • Alarm System Technologies:
    Familiarity with intrusion detection systems, access control systems, and alarm monitoring technologies.
  • Effective Communication:
    Strong verbal and written skills to convey technical and procedural information clearly.
  • Ethical Judgment:
    Upholds integrity and confidentiality, especially when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Continuous Learning:
    Stays current with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations relevant to security and alarm systems, including DoD standards (ICD-705).
  • UL-2050 Standards:
    Comprehensive understanding of UL-2050 requirements, alarm system components, monitoring protocols, and reporting procedures.
  • Emergency Response Protocols:
    Expertise in response planning, escalation procedures, and Points of Contact (POCs).
