The Opportunity
:
We are seeking an experienced Network Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing complex network models and simulations to optimize network performance, capacity, and reliability across various technologies.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop sophisticated network models for diverse network technologies (e.g., IP/MPLS, optical)
Conduct advanced network simulations to evaluate performance metrics, capacity requirements, and scalability
Analyze simulation results and provide detailed recommendations for network optimization
Develop and implement innovative modeling techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency
Collaborate with network architects and engineers to translate simulation insights into practical network designs
Contribute to traffic forecasting and network dimensioning methodologies
Evaluate and recommend new modeling and simulation tools
Mentor junior engineers in modeling and simulation techniques
Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations for stakeholders
Stay current with emerging network technologies and incorporate them into modeling practices
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
5 to 10+ years of related work experience
Strong understanding of network protocols, architectures, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, MPLS, SDN)
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, architectures, and technologies across multiple domains
Expertise in network simulation tools (NS3, Riverbed Modeler, OPNET, Paragon Planner, etc.)
Strong programming skills in languages relevant to network modeling (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB)
Experience with data analytics and visualization tools
Proven track record of solving complex network problems through modeling and simulation
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
TS/SCI with CI Poly required
Desired:
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP)
Experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies
Familiarity with machine learning applications in network modeling
Experience in large-scale, multi-vendor network environments
