System Administrator

This position is contingent upon contract award

The System Administrator (SysA), as part of the Platform Team, delivers technical infrastructure and capabilities for automating, supporting, and enhancing the Sponsor's interactive collaborative workspace, system services (intercom, AV), and IT services. The SA develops and supports the full lifecycle management of the Dev Ops tool pipeline, integrated development environment, and Cloud automation. The SysA demonstrates strong Linux/Windows administration experience, including package management, security hardening, kickstart, and virtualization.

Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Providing full lifecycle management of tools, applications, dashboards, and environments used by the Platform/Operational teams for the development, operation, and maintenance of the system.
• Maintaining server/cloud/tools baselines, developing clear and concise server build reports (procedures), and submitting build reports for all deliveries.
• Coordinating server installation; creating and/or updating asset management records.
• Configuring, building, monitoring, updating/upgrading, transitioning, and maintaining/administering servers (Linux, Windows, Nutanix, AWS, Google Cloud, including security appliances).
• Providing technical configuration, setup, installation services, hardware, and coordination for application projects.
• Installing security updates and patches, performing operating system software updates/upgrades.
• Providing weekly maintenance and published updates for all tools, databases, environments, applications, and assessment equipment.
• Working with project personnel to resolve schedule problems and ensure timely transition of developed applications and systems to customers.

• Extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Understanding of network protocols, hardware, and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
• Understanding security principles, tools, and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting solutions and collaborating with users.
• Ability to document system configurations and troubleshooting steps.
• Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Power Shell, Python).
• Experience with automation tools and techniques.

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
• Basic understanding of application development principles.
• Experience with IT project planning and execution.

• One or more of the following:
  CompTIA Security+, CEH, CCNA, CISSP, CISM, CySA+
