Linux Systems and Network Engineer with Security Clearance

Northern Virginia (onsite work required at least 3 days per week).
ISSA/TS with Full Scope Polygraph.
Responsibilities and Key Tasks- Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of operational networks in collaboration with government personnel and other contractors.
- Work seamlessly within government spaces and independently prioritize tasks in a time‑effective manner while reporting status updates to internal program managers and government customers.
- Perform Linux system administration and troubleshooting, ensuring secure and efficient networking configurations.
- Securely instantiate and configure cloud instances over SSH on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle.
- Employ Linux command‑line tools such as Bash for system management and scripting.
- Program in C, C++, and Python to support workflow automation, debugging, and development tasks.
- Create custom filters and analyze network traffic using tools like Wireshark, tshark, python‑scapy, and libpcap.
- Apply Computer Network Operations (CNO) and exploitation principles and operational concepts.
- Operate managed attribution networks for secure routing, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Debug distributed networks, including devices communicating across local and remote network tunnels.
- Hardening Linux systems and services; write firewall rulesets with tools such as iptables and nftables.
- Validate appropriate packet routing from source to destination using Linux tools.
- Ability to work seamlessly with government personnel and other contractors in sensitive spaces.
- Strong initiative to tackle complex technical problems effectively and independently.
- Excellent organizational skills to prioritize concurrent tasks in a time‑efficient manner.
- Outstanding interpersonal and professional communication skills to report status updates to both internal stakeholders and government customers.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technology‑related field, or 5 years of directly related experience.
Desired EducationAdvanced degree in computer science or a technology field, or 10 years of equivalent related experience.
