Data Center Network Technician

Overview

The candidate will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the expansion of our next-generation networks. The position is responsible for scaling support of several data center locations and day-to-day capacity management. The Network Technician will collaborate with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Technical Program Managers. Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, detail-oriented, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills with significant experience supporting large-scale enterprise class networks.

Strong documentation methodology and excellent network implementation and troubleshooting skills are required. The ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is essential.

Pay Rate: $29.22

• Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
• Work with Network Engineering, Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of new designs and products.
• TCP/IP networking knowledge and broad understanding of infrastructure technologies.
• Knowledge of network cabling and standard optic types; familiarity with common networking terms.
• Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflow.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles; travel within the Virginia region will be required.
• Troubleshoot networking routing and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low-level application interaction.
• Complete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system.
• Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.

• 1+ years as a data center technician.
• Strong understanding of network principles and the OSI model.
• Ideally, Network+ or CCNA certification.
• Experience with patching; fiber optics/copper troubleshooting and working with cut sheets.
• TCP/IP proficiency.

Entry Level

Contract position based out of Sterling, VA. Fully onsite.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
