Concessions Cook

The Concessions Cook is responsible for assisting with the operation and/or maintenance of a concession facility within a Water Park.

• Assists with operation of facility by preparing and/or serving food and beverages, maintaining shelf stock of supplies, dispensing equipment, including lifting heavy objects, and providing instructions on use.
• Assists with maintenance of facilities by maintaining a clean work area, general care of equipment & materials, picking up ground trash, emptying trash cans, cleaning restrooms, and performing manual labor & related duties as assigned.
• Assists with stocking of facility to include loading and unloading of food shipments, rotating inventory, and moving items throughout the park.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-service training.
• Reports unsafe conditions, matters of theft, or illegal action to the Manager on Duty or Supervisor.
• Carries out additional duties as assigned by the Park Manager or Supervisor on Duty.

• Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment cleaning and maintenance schedules.
• Ability to learn operation of the facility and obtain a working knowledge of NOVA Parks and Alexandria City Health Department requirements.
• Must be at least sixteen years of age to operate kitchen equipment.
• Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties including custodial tasks.
• Availability to work a variable schedule, which may include early and late hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Required to purchase and wear standard uniform.
• Specialized duties and assignments related to a facility may require special training and/or certifications.
