the Role
Level 2 Electronics Technicians can operate independently, bringing several years of experience to the field with the ability to perform installations, maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, lead smaller projects, and assist in training junior technicians. Technicians at this level are expected to have an intermediate understanding of security systems and networking fundamentals, demonstrate critical problem‑solving skills, and take on additional responsibilities in project tasks and client engagement.
Responsibilities- System Installation & Maintenance:
Install, configure, and maintain complex security system components and infrastructure with minimal supervision, ensuring that systems function according to design specifications. - Technical Tasks:
Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics, including advanced programming and system integration tasks, independently and collaboratively resolving complex issues on site. - Training & Mentorship:
Lead installations and support junior technicians by providing guidance, technical training, and supervising their fieldwork to ensure quality standards. - Customer Engagement:
Interface directly with clients on site, offering operational training, fielding questions, and ensuring satisfaction with services provided. - Documentation:
Complete required job documentation and ensure compliance with industry and internal standards such as ISO‑9001, CMMI II, and DCAA.
- Education &
Skills:
Graduate; ability to work in a team environment; completion of at least two industry‑recognized certifications. - Experience:
Minimum of 3‑year experience in electronic security, with knowledge of government and independent certification requirements. - Professional Development:
Commitment to continuing education, staying current with compliance standards, certifications, network concepts, and industry best practices. - Travel:
Ability to travel to projects and stay overnight for varying lengths of time preferred but not required.
- Professionalism, adaptability, and organization required.
- Handle tasks that may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and operating in diverse environments.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions; adherence to safety protocols; maintaining company‑issued tools and equipment.
- Communication:
Strong oral and written skills to interact with peers, supervisors, and clients. - Analytical
Skills:
Detail‑oriented, capable of diagnosing and solving problems. - Screening:
Must pass a background check, have a valid driver’s license, and be eligible for U.S. Government Security Clearance.
$25 – $34 per hour.
