Position Description

Backend Developer with experience in developing J2EE applications using REST/JSON, Spring, Spring Boot, J2EE. Designs, develops, and implements web-based Java applications to support business requirements. Follows approved Agile life cycle methodologies, creates design documents & performs program coding. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Works a portion of their time as a member of the production support team.

Strong knowledge of and experience with Java programming language and related Technologies like J2EE, Streams API, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, Spring, Springboot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, JPA, Web Services (REST, Soap), XSLT, XML, JSON
Strong experience with the GIT version control system and familiarity with code repository hosting services such as Git Hub and Bit Bucket
Strong experience with the Maven build tool
Strong experience with a modern IDE such as VS Code or Intellij
Strong experience with relational databases and queries
Strong experience with production support and issue resolution
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Experience with documenting technical specifics and/or tech design
Experience designing and performing unit testing, functional testing, and code reviews
Experience with Database design including Stored Procedures, DML and DDL tasks
Experience with AWS Services
Experience using AI Coding Assistants

Preferred Skills

Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Ember, EXT, Angular, Bootstrap
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Experience with JIRA and Confluence, or other project/issue tracking software
Experience with CI/CD pipelines/tools such as Jenkins and Git Hub Actions
Experience with the Python programming language

Security & Eligibility Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
Candidate must have lived in the United States for at least 3 years

Salary Range

$7,000–$82,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, technical proficiency, job-related qualifications, and project requirements.
