Join Trinity Health System as a registered nurse in the Med Surg/Telemetry unit. The RN provides specialized nursing care and works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to meet practice guidelines, unit policies, and regulatory standards.
Job Summary / PurposeIn accordance with our mission and core values, the registered nurse performs care requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills based on the application of the nursing process. The RN uses assessment skills to ensure multidisciplinary patient care and teamwork to meet established practice guidelines, unit-specific policies, and regulatory standards.
EssentialKey Job Responsibilities
- Assessment: Performs complete patient assessment, recognizes significant changes, coordinates physiologic monitoring, and documents assessment in compliance with hospital policy.
- Plan of Care: Initiates the patient goal/problem list, develops and evaluates the Plan of Care, collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, and makes appropriate changes.
- Patient Treatments: Obtains and verifies physician orders, ensures consent and supplies, performs or assists procedures, manages medication administration and documentation, monitors patient records, and coordinates communication.
- Teaching: Assesses education needs, utilizes team members to provide comprehensive education, incorporates teaching principles, documents education, and evaluates teaching effectiveness.
- Leadership: Participates in peer review, provides learning opportunities, mentors new employees, resolves conflict, delegates assignments, enforces policies, maintains current knowledge of policies, and promotes a therapeutic relationship.

Competencies:
Provides evidence‑based care, obtains required certifications within specified time frames, and meets yearly skill requirements.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio or multistate licensure.
- BLS required upon hire.
The RN must possess demonstrated knowledge, training, and skills appropriate to neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and older adult populations. The RN must demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills, effective decision making, assessment, critical thinking, and ability to delegate/coordinate multidisciplinary care.
