Job Title

Bucket Truck Operator at Penn Line Service, Inc.

Job Description

A Bucket Operator’s primary responsibility is to assist with the clearing and removal of trees along electrical power lines and right‑of‑ways. The operator uses an aerial lift device (bucket truck) to reach branches interfering with electric lines, and may also operate chainsaws, pruners, brush chipper, and climbing equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a bucket truck to trim trees and remove vegetation interfering with power lines.
  • Use chainsaws, pruners, and brush chipper as needed.
  • Climb trees using climbing equipment when required.
  • Respond to emergency storm duty calls as needed.
  • Travel within the service area (PA, MD, OH, VA, WV) and be available for short‑notice work assignments.
Qualifications
  • At least 6 months of verifiable experience trimming from a bucket and/or operating a bucket in a utility line clearance or residential tree clearance setting.
  • Valid driver license; CDL preferred.
  • Preference for a pesticide license, though not mandatory.
  • Physical ability to work in an outdoor environment and perform physically demanding tasks.
Work Schedule

4–10 hour days, Monday‑Thursday or Tuesday‑Friday with periods of mandatory overtime. Employees must be available for emergency storm duty and may need to travel across the listed states.

Rate of Pay

Varies depending upon skills and experience.

Work Area

Travel required throughout PA, MD, OH, VA, and WV. Candidates must be flexible to travel when called upon.
