Location:

Milton Keynes, with regular travel to sites between Milton Keynes and North London
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

The Company
A respected and growing construction and roofing contractor is seeking an experienced Roofing Contracts Manager to oversee refurbishment roofing projects across the commercial sector. The company delivers high‑quality pitched and flat roofing schemes and is known for its strong reputation, supportive culture and commitment to professional development.

This role is generally site‑based and would suit candidates living in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes or surrounding areas who are comfortable travelling between Milton Keynes and North London.

Role Overview
The Roofing Contracts Manager will manage refurbishment roofing projects from inception to completion, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a consistently high standard. The role involves managing operatives and subcontractors, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring full compliance with health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery
Manage the successful delivery of roofing contracts, ensuring internal teams and subcontractors meet quality and specification requirements
Oversee day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring safety, quality and productivity
Monitor project timelines and budgets, making adjustments where required
Liaise with clients throughout the project to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues promptly
Provide regular progress updates to the Operations Manager and senior leadership

Project Management
Plan and coordinate labour, materials and equipment to meet project deadlines
Carry out site inspections and audits to ensure work meets required standards
Work closely with the Head of Estimating and Operations Manager on scopes, budgets and schedules
Resolve on‑site challenges quickly to minimise disruption

Health & Safety
Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations across all sites
Conduct regular safety audits and ensure operatives follow all protocols
Prepare RAMS for each project
Deliver toolbox talks and communicate safety updates

Client & Stakeholder Liaison
Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular updates
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
Keep project documentation accurate and up to date

Financial Oversight
Monitor and control project costs
Work with the Operations Manager to forecast and track project profitability
Ensure all work aligns with financial targets and company objectives

Reporting & Communication
Provide daily updates on progress, site activity and any issues
Attend project meetings and contribute to planning discussions
Ensure clear communication across site teams, subcontractors and management

Key Skills & Experience

Qualifications
CSCS card required
SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
First Aid certification beneficial

Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience managing roofing refurbishment projects
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines

Skills
Strong leadership and team‑management abilities
Excellent communication skills for client and supplier liaison
Solid understanding of roofing systems, materials and safety standards
Strong project management capability, including cost and time control
Effective problem‑solving skills on site

Additional Requirements
Valid UK driving licence
Willingness to travel between Milton Keynes and London
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
