Overview

Project Quantity Surveyor | Refurbishment Contractor | Hertfordshire. A growing refurbishment contractor is looking to add an Intermediate or Senior Quantity Surveyor as part of a planned expansion following a strong year and increased turnover. This is a hands-on, commercially focused role, working predominantly on warehouse and industrial refurbishment projects, typically ranging from £500k to £3m, with a steady pipeline and repeat client base.

If you're comfortable running your own projects, producing valuations, managing subcontractor accounts, and working closely with delivery teams, this is a solid long-term opportunity.

• Running multiple refurbishment projects concurrently (£500k-£3m)
• Projects primarily focused on warehouse and industrial refurbishments
• Producing valuations, cost reports, CVRs, and final accounts
• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and variations
• Working closely with site teams and directors on commercial strategy
• JCT-based contracts with straightforward scopes and programmes
• Office-based circa 75%, with regular site visits for valuations and meetings

• Experienced Intermediate QS or recently stepped-up Senior QS
• Background in refurbishment or fit-out works essential
• Confident running projects with minimal supervision
• Strong understanding of valuations, variations, CVRs, and final accounts
• Commercially astute, organised, and comfortable managing multiple jobs
• Professional and dependable — personality fit matters in a close-knit team

They are an established refurbishment contractor with £13m turnover last year, projecting £20m this year following continued growth.

Around 80% of their work is warehouse refurbishment, typically valued between £500k and £5m, with repeat clients and a practical, no-nonsense approach to delivery.
