Post Overview

We are looking to recruit a Specialty Doctor in Stroke Medicine. The post starts March 2026 and is a fixed‑term appointment of 12 months from 1 March 2026, based predominantly at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage. It includes 1 Supporting Programmed Activity per week to focus on your own development.

As a Trust we have a proven track record in supporting doctors to complete their CESR and then go on to take a Consultant post with the Trust, so this could be your ideal next step.

The post comprises 10 programmed activities (PAs), which could be modified for a candidate preferring to work 10 PAs or less than full time.

Main responsibilities
  • Maintenance of high‑quality, patient‑centred care
  • Shared responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of the service
  • Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service
  • Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity
  • Active participation in continuing medical education
