The Valley School is a special school catering for 193 secondary‑age students with learning difficulties and other complex needs such as autism and speech, language and communication needs. We are situated in a very pleasant location with good transport links. We are a friendly team and offer good opportunities for training and development. The Valley School provides an exciting and challenging learning environment for about 160 students who need our support because of their learning difficulties, autism or speech, language and communication needs. Aged 11‑16, these amazing young people need the skills of outstanding practitioners to enable them to make progress, learn to believe in their own futures and to become independent and confident members of the community.
We are looking for the right person to join our Interventions Team. Learning is developed in an integrated and thematic model, as in a primary school. You will work closely with families and other professionals to understand the needs of our pupils and to ensure they are able to learn effectively. Your skills as a teacher will be highly valued and will equip you well for this context, as our pupils are working well below their chronological age and thrive in the close relationship fostered in a primary model.
