Geography Teacher - Stevenage Full-Time | Long-Term | Secondary School | ASAP Start

A highly regarded secondary school in Stevenage, known for its commitment to academic excellence and inclusive ethos, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join their team immediately. The school is committed to creating a supportive, student‑centered environment where both academic and personal development are a priority.

In this long‑term position, you’ll be teaching Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching KS5 depending on your qualifications and experience. The school is looking for a teacher who has a genuine passion for Geography and is eager to engage students in exploring the world around them.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver dynamic, engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential to contribute to KS5 depending on experience.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of students and ensure inclusive learning.
  • Track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Prepare students for GCSE Geography exams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed.
  • Collaborate with the Geography department on curriculum planning and development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation.
  • Uphold the school’s behaviour policies and maintain high standards of classroom management.
  • Contribute to the school’s extracurricular activities, including field trips and additional departmental initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Qualifications
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent international qualification.
  • A degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Geography at the secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in Geography.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a proactive approach to teaching.
  • Ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
