Assistant Principal – Primary School (Academy Trust), Stevenage

September 2026 Start

Leadership Scale (Fringe) L5–L9: £57,137 – £63,070

We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking primary school in Stevenage, part of a supportive and well-established academy trust, to recruit an ambitious and driven Assistant Principal for a September start.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced teacher ready to take the next step in their career. The school welcomes applications from both primary and secondary trained teachers with a strong commitment to raising standards and improving outcomes for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Headteacher and senior leadership team in the strategic development of the school
  • Lead on key areas of school improvement, including teaching and learning, curriculum development, or behaviour
  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil achievement across the school
  • Support and develop staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and ambitious school culture
The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven track record of excellent teaching and impact on pupil outcomes
  • Experience of middle or senior leadership within a school setting
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead staff and pupils
  • A commitment to continuous school improvement and collaboration within an academy trust
