An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Hertfordshire is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join its successful English department from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire a love of literature and language in students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates. Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons that motivate and challenge students.
Foster a positive learning environment where all students can achieve their potential.
Contribute to the continued success and development of the English department.
Use assessment effectively to support student progress and attainment.
Participate fully in the wider life of the school community.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
Demonstrates high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
Is committed to providing excellent teaching and learning experiences.
Works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
