What you’ll be doing

In this exciting role, you’ll be right at the heart of our hospitality provision—supporting vibrant, hands-on learning experiences that truly make a difference.

You will:

Help deliver innovative, engaging programmes tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners

Support students in our Meadows Restaurant and Deli provisions across Hitchin and Stevenage Work alongside lecturers to deliver and assess Hospitality & Catering qualification's from Level 1 to Level 3

Inspire learners of all ages and abilities in both practical and group settings

Play a key role in personal and academic tutorial sessions, supporting students’ wider development

About the Organisation:

The College operates across three main campuses in Stevenage and Hitchin, employing over 650 staff. With a turnover of £30m, the college provides learning opportunities to over 10,000 students each year from study programmes for 16-18 year olds and apprenticeships through to adult provision locally, regionally and nationally. We were judged Good by Ofsted at our last inspection in December 2023, with outstanding features.

Job Description Role and Responsibilities Working alongside the Commercial Manager and also reporting to the Curriculum managers, you will be jointly responsible for assessing in our commercial areas of the college and working across both the Stevenage and Hitchin sites at our Meadows Restaurant and Deli provisions based at both Hitchin and Stevenage Supporting students with a range of learning needs and SEND requirements in line with College and industry expectations and a basic understanding of City & Guilds vocational qualifications

Collective responsibility of elements of Food Safety Management and safe working practices

Conduct workplace observations and professional discussions in line with qualification standards and awarding body requirements.

Support learners in collecting evidence and building portfolios (where applicable), ensuring authenticity and sufficiency.

Provide clear, constructive feedback to learners to help them progress and develop professionally.

Liaise with placement settings, awarding organisations and learners to ensure a high-quality experience and assess suitability for continued placement.

Complete and maintain accurate records of learner progress, assessment decisions, and related documentation.

Attend standardisation meetings and CPD activities to ensure consistency and compliance with internal and external quality assurance processes.

Work in collaboration with curriculum staff to ensure seamless integration between classroom learning and work placement development.
