Drainage Engineers (Senior & Operative Positions)
Location: Hertfordshire (with travel as required)
Department: Drainage
Reports to: Head of Drainage
Employment Type: Full‑time
1. OverviewWe are seeking experienced and dedicated Drainage Engineers to join our operational team in Hertfordshire. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high‑quality drainage maintenance, repair, and remedial services across a range of commercial and residential environments. We are recruiting for:
- 1 x Senior Drainage Engineer
- 2 x Drainage Engineers
These roles require individuals who can work independently, demonstrate strong technical competency, and maintain a professional standard of service while representing the organisation.
2.Key Responsibilities
Senior Drainage Engineer
- Lead and execute complex drainage works, including diagnostics, remedials, and repairs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and operatives.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with compliance standards.
- Prepare detailed job reports, risk assessments, and method statements where required.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Support ongoing training and development of team members.
- Carry out drainage maintenance, remedial works, and installation tasks.
- Conduct HPWJ (High-Pressure Water Jetting) operations and CIPP patch repairs.
- Diagnose drainage issues using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet project timelines.
- Complete accurate job documentation and report findings promptly.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
Senior Drainage Engineer
- Extensive experience and technical knowledge within the drainage industry.
- Strong understanding of remedial repairs, HPWJ, CIPP patching, and associated systems.
- Proven ability to manage workload, lead tasks, and support junior staff.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Demonstrated experience within the drainage or utilities sector.
- Competency in remedials, HPWJ, and CIPP patching is required.
- Good problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including night shifts when required.
- Willingness to travel to various locations and stay away from home when necessary.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and in all weather conditions.
