Systems Design Engineer

Systems Design Engineer – 12 Month Contract

Based in Stevenage (Bristol or Bolton possible). Offering up to £80 per hour, Inside IR35.

Do you have experience generating functional and physical architecture, with tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, Capella, MATLAB or Simulink? If yes, this could be the role for you.

As the Systems Design Engineer you will work alongside a market‑leading Defence and Aerospace company, growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Developing system architecture and design using MBSE.
• Deriving and managing requirements.
• Communicating with stakeholders, external customers and suppliers.
• Developing physical and functional architecture with SysML techniques.
• Developing functional, operational functions and design.

Required skillset includes:

• Experience deriving and managing requirements.
• Experience generating functional and physical architecture using SysML, ARCADIA or similar MBSE tools.
• Experience dissecting and understanding customer requirements, disseminating them into lower‑level subsystem requirements and complex functional architectures.
• Consistent ability to deliver output within agreed timescales.
• Skill in cultivating strong relationships with colleagues, external departments and customers.
• Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering.
• Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next, Rhapsody and Capella.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
• Knowledge of RF/microwave, electronic systems, radar, control systems and digital signal processing.
