Electronics Component Principal Engineer

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity within the Component Engineering team to shape and support across the business. No two days are the same, supporting a large network of teams. Salary: up to £52,500 depending on experience. Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification.

Security clearance:
British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates must undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

• Manage electronic components; assess market trends and technical risks.
• Provide technical advice and risk reporting to engineering and procurement & supply-chain teams.
• Advise and influence technical subjects for a broad range of stakeholders.
• Participate in design reviews, training, and other development activities to maintain and transfer expertise.
• Research future technologies and lead international collaboration to define best practice and adopt agreed methodologies.
• Support the evolving business needs by understanding supplier and internal requirements.

• Knowledge and experience in electronics semiconductor applications.
• Knowledge of electronic manufacturers / supply chain, especially in semiconductors.
• Ability to advise and influence on technical subjects.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactiveness and self-motivation to improve oneself, processes, and deliver results.
• Advantageous: experience in supply chain and knowledge of electrical and electro-mechanical products.
