Lannock Farm is a 500-hectare mixed regenerative farming estate in North Hertfordshire. We are looking for an energetic, practical and forward‑thinking Farm and Estate Manager to become a key member of our team and play a leading role in the continued development of our diverse farming and estate businesses.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and wants to help build a thriving regenerative farming business with multiple enterprises.
Working alongside the Farm Partners Paul and Alex Cherry, the successful candidate will be part of a close‑knit core team while managing and supporting a wide range of farming, estate and commercial activities.
About Lannock FarmOur farming system is built around regenerative principles, combining combinable crops, beef cattle and pastured laying hens. Alongside our neighbouring farm, Irongate Farm, we also host the internationally recognised Groundswell Festival, welcoming thousands of visitors each year from across the farming, food and environmental sectors.
We are passionate about regenerative agriculture and are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for soil health, livestock, innovation and knowledge exchange.
Lannock Farm is home to a growing community of rural businesses, including our Farm Shop, Butchery and Smoke + Barrel fire kitchen, alongside a sourdough bakery, gelato producer, coffee roastery, pottery, upholstery studio, sauna and treatment space.
As part of our long‑term vision, we are expanding livestock numbers to supply the butchery and restaurant, while continuing to develop a diverse grazing system based on permanent pasture and herbal leys, supported through SFI, Countryside Stewardship and Biodiversity Net Gain.
The wider estate also includes commercial and residential properties, biomass heating systems fuelled by estate‑grown woodchip, a Christmas tree business and a self‑storage business.
The RoleThis is a varied and hands‑on position with responsibility across the farming and estate businesses. You will help lead day‑to‑day operations while contributing to the long‑term strategic direction of the estate.
Key Responsibilities- Planning and managing the annual cropping programme
- Day‑to‑day management of farming and estate operations
- Livestock management and development
- Purchasing seed, fertiliser and other farm inputs
- Marketing and negotiating crop sales
- Maintaining accurate farm records
- Managing compliance with legislative, assurance and environmental schemes
- Overseeing estate property management and development
- Supporting business planning and strategic decision‑making
- Leading and motivating staff, contractors and seasonal teams
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
You will ideally have:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A genuine interest in regenerative agriculture and soil health
- A practical, proactive and entrepreneurial approach
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Experience using farm management software and digital record‑keeping systems
Property management and development experience - A full UK driving licence
- A desire to build a long‑term career with the business
- Livestock management, mob grazing, and free‑range poultry
- Holistic Management principles
- Ecology and environmental stewardship
- Event Management
- Public speaking, knowledge exchange or farmer engagement
Competitive salary, dependent on experience, together with an attractive package.
