You will be the person bringing everything together. One day you could be working through complex RF and communications challenges, the next leading key design reviews, managing technical risk, or ensuring multiple engineering disciplines remain aligned towards a common objective. As the technical lead for the programme, you will guide system architecture decisions, oversee requirements development, drive trade studies and support critical customer interactions.
You will have the authority to influence major decisions whilst ensuring the team delivers against technical, cost and schedule objectives. This role is suited to someone who has successfully delivered within the space sector before. Someone who understands what it takes to get complex projects over the line, can lead experienced engineers with credibility, and knows how to balance technical excellence with commercial realities.
The technology is genuinely cutting edge, the projects are high profile and the team is highly regarded within the industry. With significant investment behind the programme and full commitment from senior leadership, this is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the delivery of next-generation satellite communications technology. Key Requirements Proven experience leading systems engineering teams within the space industry Strong background in RF payloads, satellite communications or related communications technologies Demonstrable experience delivering complex engineering programmes from concept through to delivery Ability to define system requirements, conduct trade-off studies and drive architecture decisions Strong understanding of technical risk, programme delivery and systems engineering principles Experience working directly with customers, partners and key stakeholders Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and drive technical performance Degree qualified in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline Package Salary in the region of £90,000 - £100,000 Comprehensive benefits package Opportunity to lead a flagship programme following a significant contract award Long-term career prospects within a growing and highly respected space technology business
